Features: Cuphea llavea is a bushy to mounding perennial subshrub that is native to Mexico. It is a great attractor of hummingbirds, as well as heat and drought. Bat Face Cuphea produces masses of 1" purple with red tubular flowers, these resemble the face of a Bat, hence the common name. Hardiness Zones: USDA Zone 9 (20° F) to USDA Zone 11 (40° F)
Height: Grows 1-2' tall and should be spaced every 12". Exposure: Plant in Full Sun to Partial Sun. Bloom Time: Blooms Spring to Fall. Water Requirements: Water 2-3 times per week until established. Requires excellent drainage.
