Features: Related to Mexican Heather but this one looks very different. Flowers are tubular and do a great job of attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Flowers are a showy red to orange color with a yellow tip, hence the name “Cigar Plant”. This plant does great in mixed perennial beds as well as in containers. Hardiness Zones: USDA Zone 7 (0 °F) to USDA Zone 11 (40 °F)
Height: Grows 24-30” tall. Space 18-24” apart. Exposure: Plant in Full Sun to Partial Sun. Bloom Time: Blooms Midspring to Early Fall. Water Requirements: Water 2-3 times per week until established. Prefers a well-drained soil.
